I got the idea for this journal from :iconsiri-chan:

I am in 10th grade now, and have to study for the SAT's. One of the worst parts of doing just that is the vocabulary section. My English teacher makes us fill our a lot of vocabulary sheets and it is driving me insane. She only want to help, but...

If you have heard of any of these words, hats off to you...

vituperative
obfuscatory
elucidated
obsequious
erroneous
fallacious
anachronistic
petulant
benighted
opportune
inimical
innuendo
interlude
umbrage
archetype
amalgam
surreptitious
venerated
supine
innocuous
pragmatic
fecund
paltry

I think these words are very overrated, and studying them is an inane waste of my time.

Ask Sirius what she thinks.

I've heard fourteen. But I also believe studying them is overrated. It's not like they're used in real life.
i've heard a few... But, i'll have to look up the others or it will bug mez now! :XD:

Have fun with that though! ^^;

I have actually heard of most of them.
But, knowing what they mean is a different story.
You are right. No one uses these words in a normal conversation.

"It is a miracle that curiosity survives formal education." -Albert Einstein
"Although the world is full of suffering, it is also full of overcoming it." -Helen Keller
"My Milkshake brings all the boys to the yard." -Kelis

:D
I had to define all of them and find them in a word search.

I laugh in the face of danger! Then I run and hide until danger goes away.
I actually know most of them too. But, they are strange words that one would not usually use in a normal conversation.
